Wire Stuck Between Drums

I have a front loading Frigidaire washing machine model LTF2940FE1.
A bra wire came loose in the wash and went through the basket and is now wedged between the basket and the tub and making bad sounds.
I have removed:

  1. Back panel.
  2. Top Panel.
  3. Front Controll Panel.
  4. Top and bottom front panels.
  5. Big rubber boot around opening.
I’m not sure what to take apart next.
I could use some advice on how to proceed.

Ouch. You need to remove the tub assembly and take it apart. To do this you will need to remove the shock supports, set the machine carefully on its front, remove the springs and then remove the tub assembly. It will come apart to you can get the wire out.

Take your time and have some help!!

See if you can use this link to get the service manual, it has step by step instructions and good pics.

Thanks for your reply. The advice and the link were very helpful.

I have very little space to work in and I don’t have any help.

My idea is to keep the washer upright, separately support the front and rear halfs of the outer drum, remove the shocks and springs, remove the 23 screws between the two halfs and separate the halfs just enough to get the wire out. Do you think this procedure could work?

The wire is out!

I took off the rubber drain boot and was able to rotate the drum around to grab the wire and pull it out.

Thanks for the help. I would not have gotten this far without the advice and manual.

Great, glad you got it out and thanks for the update.
