My microwave flashes a "door" sign on the electronic reader and will not
operate when we hit "start" after inputing desired time and closing door.
I had someone over to take a look and he suggested replacing the fuse & diode. What do you think?
My washer agitates fine. However it does not spin and drain properly. If it is normal washing cycle and I open the lid if does stop. Not sure what the problem is. Serial # LM100554G 120v 60hz 10.0 amps.
Sounds like the drain may be clogged. Most often the pump will clog with lint. Get all the water out of the tub and take the hose off the pump and see if it is clogged. If so unclog it and the washer should go back to work.
First let me say thanks. There is no water left. It drains but does not spin to force the water out of the clothes. It goes through the complete cycle but does not spin/rinse
It just makes a humming noise.
It seems like the spin bearing may be frozen/stuck. This often happens when the tub seal leaks water. This could be as little as one or two drops a load. The belt could also be slipping. If the belt is slipping it could be due to grease or water getting on the belt.
Unplug the washer and try to turn the big pulley by hand to see if the transmission is stuck. Note that you have to turn the pulley so that the brakes will release. Also check to see if the belt is slipping or the motor is hung. If the belt is slipping see if it has grease on it and if so replacing the belt will only buy you time.
Also you may just be hearing the water pump. If this is the case the timer or the water level control could be the problem. Pull the tube off the water level switch and see if it will spin then if so clean out the tube.
You can check the water level control with an ohmmeter. Unplug the washer and disconnect the wires off the switch. With no water in the tub there should be continuity from the terminal marked 7 to the 15 terminals and it should be open from 7 to 16. I don’t think it will be this switch because it is washing and not overflowing but check it anyway if the main motor isn’t running.
I hope this helps!
