Good evening, I have a GE PSC23NGNA that has the 3lb Quick Thaw light that stays on constantly. I’ve tried resetting it multiple times. When I cycle trough the settings to off position the light goes out but as soon as I close the door and open it again the 3lb light is back on. I don’t hear any fans running, etc. I read a post where the customer’s light was staying on but the refrigerator would not cool. I’m not having that problem the freezer is maintaining 0 degrees (it’s set at 0) and the fresh food section at 37 (set at 37) with the exception of the bottom drawer (Quick Thaw, Quick Cool, etc.). This drawer seems to maintain a temperature of 44 or 45 degrees. Does this sound like it might also be trouble with the mother board? Any help with solving this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Johnyf1
I have the same problem Everything seemed to be working fine expect the 3lb Express Thaw indicator will not go away.
Where should I start checking?

As near as I could tell from my research the problem lies in the circuitry of the main control board. From what I could tell this is a common problem with this model. The part was/is available if I remember right for somewhere around $175 from Appliance Parts (they had the best price I could find). I used a remote reading thermometer to keep track of the temperature in the bottom draw and found it to maintain approximately 42 degrees (the freezer and rest of the refrigerator compartment stay at the temperature set on the controls). Rather than spend the money to replace the board we use the bottom drawer to store bread, English muffins, etc. Unless something else fails associated with the control board I don’t plan to replace it. It’s taken me several months to learn to ignore the light. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
johnyf1,
I appreciate your reply. Everything is working correctly therefore, I’m not paying $175 just to fixed a busted an led indicator.
Thanks again,
