Just got a washer off craigslist and the belt blew on the third use. I smelled a burning smell and figured I just overloaded it, but when I used it I noticed I did not hear the agitator running. I then figured I blew the belt, which I did. I then replaced the belt, turned the washer back on, but the agitator was not turning on (I ran the rinse > final wash cycle). I left the access panel off to see what was going on and from what I saw the motor spins fine when it goes to the final part of the wash cycle, but the belt moves two inches clockwise and then stops. The motor pulley keeps on spinning burning up the belt but the spin pulley goes nowhere. I quickly turned off the washer and tried to see if I could spin the agitators pulley. I could spin it fine counterclockwise, but when I tried to spin it clockwise it would only go 6 inches of belt length before the helix nylon piece would prevent it from continuing to spin. At this point I’ve searched the net for help, but I can’t find an exact answer. Any help would be appreciated. I need to fix this soon as my man pride has been taken down a few pegs and the wife is full of "I told you so’s." She was against the purchase from the beginning.
