Another Maytag Oven F1 story

After beginning autocleaning of my maytag oven it began beeping and flashing F1, and the door was locked. I searched around the web and found many similar F! stories and good instructions on troubleshooting. I diagnosed according to one technician and determined that the ERC(clock) was the culprit. So, I replaced the clock. Still - F1. So, I replaced the door latch unit. - now i’m out arount $200 and still have the blasted F1. I’ve read that it could be the oven sensor unit? I do see that the wires on the door latch are pretty brittle. Whether they are still good - don’t know?

I called the appliancepart pros, who supplied the clock unit, to ask if they’ve had the replacement units themselves go bad. They said they are tested at the factory. Another place says to remove the ribbon connector from the clock circuit board and diagnose from there…For the life of me I can’t figure out the trick to disconnecting the ribbon connector and have quit trying for fear of breaking this very expensive unit…

Anybody have any suggestions- or should I bite the bullet and call the maytag man?

The clock control board that you have has it all built in to it. When you replace your old clock control board, did you just peel off the face off the old one and stick it on the new one. If so your touch pad is built into the control board. I have looked up the code, and it says touch pad. No mention of the sensor. If the touch pad is build into the control board, send it back andget another. Then if it does not work replace the sensor as a last resort. Tom

I beleive yours is a T1 type display
The wiring diagram is page 4-64

Check out page 1-11, perhaps by doing this you will get another digit on your fault code which should help narrow it down.

If it points to the latch
Unplug the unit
Remove the appropriate plug from the control board and check with an ohm meter.
