Cant get the

I recently diagnosed a bad motor on the icemaker module. I ordered a new ice maker part number W10190965. When i installed the part i waited for 1 hour and could not ever get the motor to energize. Is there a time delay built in to the module. is it possible I have a defective part. and also there are four wires going to the module a black, green, brown, and white. on the black wire it has something that clips on to the ice maker what is that, is it a resistor or thermostat.
