Dishwasher Door doesn't close tight to activate wash

You may want to give a try to the flame sensor first.

Well, I’m back.

I gave up on the really-old-one and got a kinda-old-one from a buddy. This one is a 1992 GE Gas (DDG7189SBLWW).

It fires up for about thirty seconds initially, burns well, then goes out. The ignitier glows, then fires up for 10 or so seconds, and goes out. It will do this the entire time.

I replaced the flame sensor with a brand new one and have the same results.

Suggestions?

EDIT FOR DUMB QUESTION

Is a gas dryer supposed to stay burning for the entire cycle?

Because I replaced the flame sensor and both coils. It burns for a while then will go out. But the exhaust is still hot/relatively warm. Before the exhaust cools it will re-ignite and heat up to hot. Is this typical?

For the very first time the flame should stay On for about 90 - 120 seconds. Then it should cycle On and Off and stay On for about 40 - 50 seconds each time.

Very likely there is a restricted air flow in the dryer vent. There are two signs in your description pointing to this problem: short time for the flame being On and overheated exhaust.
