help please. i have a jenn aire double wall oven electric # jjw9627cas. i just replaced the touch panel and clock/timer. that is working fine and nice to see the display again. the problem is the top oven displays the temp but the food is not cooking right and it doesnt feel as hot as the bottom oven with cooks fine. any ideas ? all your help is appriciated…
Place the oven thermometer in the middle of the upper oven cavity. Set the Bake on 350 degrees and do not open the oven door for about 10 minutes after the oven preheated. Open the oven door, check the temperature and post the result.
thanks gene…i am going to order the element as i replaced the control panel last week and the oven wasnt heating prior to that…at least with the new panel i can see how long its taking…thanks again and i will let you know the outcome after the element goes in…need both ovens as turkey day is fast approaching.
gene,
change out the bake elementand still not heating up. after about 45 minutes the panel read 350 but the oven thermometer read only 280. any other suggestion ?
gene,
i didnt open the door until after it hit 350…and i am not seeing the element getting red…something is getting the oven warm not the element…would love to return it as that wasnt the problem…just would like to figure out what is wrong with the oven and get it working…
i replaced both 1 & 3...my clock had been out for a while so i finally replaced it and when i did the touch pad went bad so i replaced that too....the top oven was not heating for a while and now after replacing the bake element i still dont have the oven heating up right. what else could it be ? i hate to call someone in if its someyhing i can do myself.
The heating element has to be checked for continuity.
If it’s fine then the voltage to the heating element has to be measured while the control calls for heat. The normal reading suppose to be about 240 VAC.
