I have a maytag dryer and when I put my clothes in it will go thru the dry cycle when it ends the clothes are still wt

To dry the clothes you need heat and air flow.

If the dryer is heating up it is an air flow problem. The most common cause of this is a clogged vent system.

Undo the dryer from the exhaust
Run a load
If the load dries correctly then you have a vent problem.
Clean/check the vent system. Make sure the outside louvers open fully.

If you do not want lint in the house.
Take a pair of pantyhose, put one leg into the other and attach this to the dryer exhaust.
Leave enough room behind the dryer so it can blow out like a windsock.
Run a load.

Both the above will allow you to check the air flow and temp.
Also the above is NOT recommended for a gas dryer due to possible carbon monoxide problems.

I have a GE model dde7100mcl and have been searching for a part that I fear is discontinued. Hopefully I can find a suitable replacement here. I haven’t quite found the part on the Cabinet front part of the diagram. The number that I believe it to be is 395 on the cabinet front of model DDE7100mcl. it shows two different parts for that piece [AP2043111](http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=2043109"]AP2043109[/URL] and [URL="http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=2043111) both discontinued. It is a paper type filter that is sandwiched in between the metal parts of the door. It seems to be a barrier between the door of the dryer and the lint trap. the only reason that i am replacing it is brcause the piece has mold on it. I have included a few pictures of the part. Is there anything that I can do?

A lot of them dryers simply have a piece of cardboard in there.

so is there a reason for that cardboard and should i replace it or just throw it away?

Keeps down the racket from vibration is all I can figure out
