I have a Maytag Performa gas dryer with above model number and serial number 12854781UW that requires 3+ cycles to dry clothes. I have cleaned the vent and there is sufficient airflow through output vent. It feels as though the air feels cool or mildly warm if that. I have turned the dryer on while the door was still open to see if in fact the drum is rotating which is the case. I have checked the gas switch valve to make sure the valve is in the on direction. I am currently debating whether if it is worth it to repair this one or if I should just purchase a new dryer . Please help any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks:)
Just checked my dryer on a whim and it does get warm but not as hot as to dry the clothes in 1 cycle. The dryer used to do this on occasion before it did not provide enough heat. Could it be a build up of lint blocking the igniter or something?
Take the dryer apart and clean the air ducts and the blower housing. Replace the gas valve coils.
- The part number for the coil kit is AP2150379
