Gene,
My Whirlpool dryer runs, but won’t heat.I have checked the heating elements(coils),don’t see a break in them.I also checked to see if the venting is clogged,no problem there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Allan

Unplug the dryer and remove the back panel. You should then see the thermal fuse right on the blower housing. Make sure to remove one wire from the fuse before testing.
Make sure you check each (potential) electrical fuse, thermostat, heating coil for continuity. You’ll need a multimeter to do this. (Radio Shack -$29). I found a $11 thermostat bad. This did the trick. Give this a try. Make sure the dryer is unplugged when you check for continuity.
Mark, the valve coils are probably bad and only work for the first heat cycle. I’d try replacing the coils.
I checked my circuit breakers and they are fine. The 3-prong outlet works and is fine. My dryer runs and runs and never gets hot and never turns off. It has to be shut off manually. I have replaced the following
and cleaned out all lint from everywhere. Am I missing something? Please help.

Everything works except the spin cycle. I took the front cover off and watched, and it started to work then stopped. The clutch spins freely, and it looks like that is the bad part. Do you know what the problem is?
How to remove front panel of Maytag model DE412 electric dryer
Hello. The problem with the gas dryer is this: The timer has different settings and we always turn the timer knob to the left close the door and push start. When we set the timer you can usually hear(faintly) the timer working, now we cant. I put a load of clothes in at night(yesterday) and woke the next morning and the dryer was still on. I felt no heat from the dryer and the timer was in the same position as when I left it the night before. I ran the dryer again for ten minutes, but this time I set the timer on the right side of the knob and the timer worked but no heat at all. Hopefully you can help me with a solution. Thanks Carl
