I have a inglis dryer mod # Ied4400VQ1 and the other night it worked just fine then the next morning it would not start. I fulled around with it a little bit as i am not a appliance tech by no means. I have installed a new door switch thinking it might have just been problem but no help. I found where the thermal fuse is and disconnected the two wires and connected them together and she started up but with no heat. So i then ordered a new thermal fuse and a thermastat and cut off kit. installed all that and it turned on, drum turns but still no heat. I have noticed that the timer will not turn off the dryer once it is on. After messing with it some more now it wont even turn on. i tried bypassing the thermal swith again by just connecting the two wires together by themselfs and nothing… Could it be a bad timer? I know the timer has been turned backwards many of times do to the kids playing with it. Could the timer be not making the right connections causing the power not to make complete connections? i have had my doubts about the timer being good since the beginning of this whole ordeal. How can i check the timer?
