I have a Kenmore stackable washer/dryer and my dryer won’t start. When I turn and hold the start switch I can hear the timer make a noise but the dryer won’t start. Do I need a new switch or a new timer?
Here are the parts. Your unit is actually a Frigidaire.

Here is a manual

I am guessing that this will be close to your unit but cannot confirm this.
If nothing else it will give you an idea of how Frigidaire does things.
Do I need a new switch or a new timer
Probably neither.
If you look at Page 14 in the manual you will see that there is a Thermal Limiter (fuse) in the motor circuit. I would check this, it should be 0 ohms at room temperature.
If it is blown be sure to check/clean your vent system. This is the most common cause of it blowing.
Also clean/check the blower wheel.
