Dryer won't start

Our dryer stopped in the middle of a cycle and wouldn’t turn on again. We did some googling and ended up replacing the hi-limit thermostat and the thermal fuse. There was a lot of lint built up so we cleaned that out as well. Turned on the dryer, and the fuse blew within about 5 minutes. Did some more googling, and decided that maybe we didn’t get all of the blockage out so we cleaned everything out really well and replaced the fuse again. Again, it blew in about 5 minutes. I did some searching again and called a few people and decided to check the control thermostat. That seemed to be the problem so we replaced it as well as another thermal fuse. Now it won’t turn on at all. What could be the problem?

Ok new problem. I got it to start. It will run on no heat but if I put it on a heat setting, it trips the breaker.

Could there be some problem with the element?

Yes, it is very possible. You may want to check the heating element for continuity across its terminals and each terminal to the ground. Inspect all wires. Post the results.
