Hello, and thanks in advance. I am new to this so bear with me. I have a six year old whirlpool fridge model number: gc5shexnb00 and the fan in the back at the bottom stop turning so i replaced it. but now two days later it quit again. I have to un-plugg the fridge a couple of times and then the fan will kick on and stay on for a day or so then quit. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hello. This is either a poor electrical connection or you have a control [AP3773712] going into failure. The fan motor could also be going into failure. You need to check the voltage going to the fan motor and insure that it is sufficient voltage. If not, the board is bad. If adequate voltage is present, the fan motor [AP4318657] has failed. I hope this was useful in your repair and have a great day!

Rock, You didn’t specify which fan had an issue, the evaporator fan is a 12 VDC. motor and the condenser fan motor is 120 VAC. You’ll need to check the voltage woth a meter, to determine if you have a faulty motor or control board. Heres some meter usage information:
