Freezer compartment collecting ice and then leaking water onto floor

For the last year (since the refrig was moved) it has started leaking water about once a month. When I notice water on the floor in front of it, I open the freezer and see that there is ice covering the bottom of the freezer compartment. Otherwise it is working fine, the freezer area stays about 0 and the refrig area about 37 deg F.

This unit does not have an ice maker. So no water is connected to the refrig.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Paul,

Yes that is what I thought the problem was, and what it was. The problem for me was this frig. has the bottom drawer freezer and I didn’t know where the drain tube was. I ended up having to call the repair man. He had to disassemble the freezer, pull the door, remove the freezer basket, all the hardware for the baskets and drawer slides before he could get to the back panel. Then he had to remove that, and then disassemble some of the covers that covered the trip tube. Ended up taking him a little over an hour to get to the drip tube and getting it cleaned out!

I was really surprised that the job was so much work!
