I have a side-by-side Kitchen Aid fridge model KSRA25KKSS00 and the freezer side is cold but the fridge side is warm. I have checked the evap coils behind the freezer panel and there is no ice build up just a very thin frosting.
Evaporator fan is working and defrost thermostat is also working as I checked for continuity with an OHM meter. Condenser coils are clean and the compressor seems to be functioning fine.
Now the air diffuser is not clogged with ice however it seems to be closed. When I power down the main board and fire it back up the air diffuser will kick in and the vent opens up for about 5 sec with cool air flow but will then shut automatically and then power down. If I repeat this, the same thing happens which makes me think that it is not a faulty air diffuser.
Not sure how check whether or not the diffuser and thermistors are faulty?
Could it be something else like the mainboard? or is there a thermometer?
Also, the over temperature reset light/alarm was continually going on, so I have placed a piece of plastic in the diffuser vent to keep it open and the fridge side is cold for now. The alarm will come on still once in a while but not as frequently as it did with the diffuser vents closed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
D
