But being that there`s still power, I noticed at the top of the fridge compartment is a little LED that should probably be giving me an error code of some kind that is dead could this be a problem with the defrost control board.
How long have you waited?
It could be that you are in a defrost cycle. Usually they last about half an hour.
It does shut off the compressor, it’s fan and the evaporator/freezer fan.
I doubt it is the parts you refer to as they do not effect the fans.
Fridge unplugged for 2 days, completely defrosted. Plugged into good circuit, lights on, o/w nothing. No hum from compressor, no fans, nothing heats up or circulates.

Try turning the freezer control (item 21A in the Control Parts section) to see if the compressor and the fans will start.
To check the thermostat.
Unplug the uit and measure across the thermostat’s contacts, should be 0 ohms.
Another way would be to unplug the unit and short the wires together.
Then plug it in.
If it fires up then the thermostat is bad.
Did you ever figure out what happened to your fridge? My frigidaire fridge just went out after several power outages yesterday and now reads a code 4, everything is getting warm in the freezer and fridge now.
Sounds like we have different problems. I haven’t had time to test my Tstat yet.
The mighty google tells me your flashing #4 occurs when power is applied to the fridge and the control board goes through it’s cycles and didn’t detect a damper connection.
Punch your model number into this site to get you part number for the damper and then punch that mfg part# into google shopping to get the lowest online price. But then check ******** anyway cause there are people that will cannibalize old appliances for these parts cheap.

Thanks for the detailed reply. After unplugging for 24 hours and then plugging back in, my fridge mysteriously started working again and the flashing 4 went away.
