I was given a GE Profile Arctica. Owner stated ice maker worked, but water dispenser did not. Plugged in and working. Have not hooked up water line yet. Ice maker and ice dispenser power up. Buttons for water, quick ice, lock, alarm, light and filter do nothing. Crushed and cubed buttons beep. No lights on any of them. Ice maker turned off right now. Electronics problem? Does it have to do with the fact the water is not hooked up yet?

I saw where Gene suggested the Main Control Board to someone with a seemingly similar problem. Might this be the problem for me? What is the part no. for my model? Also noticed at bottom, below freezer door, an empty female connector at the wire harness, with no male connector. Is this some sort of diagnostic port, or should I look harder for the male end?
Measure the DC voltage between the J4-2 & J4-1 and J4-2 & J4-3 at the main control board (on the back of the fridge) and post the results.
Gene.
Gene, I have 12 volts between J4-2 & J4-1 and 12 volts between J4-2 & J4-3.
Most likely the problem is a bad dispenser control board but there is a small chance for the dispenser interface board to be bad as well.

Thanks Gene, Thats what I was thinking. Wires all seem intact and 12 volts makes it to the board. I’ll start with the dispenser board. One last question, is there a part no. for an owners manual? Thanks again. I owe you a beer!
You are welcome. I don’t think GE sold such manuals.
Keep us posted.
Gene.
Thanks again. Ordered part today. Should have it by Friday. I’ll update then. Glad I found this forum. Most useful site on the Web!
BTW, I’m not sure if I got your question right. If you are looking for the Owners Manual then just click on the link. I thought you were looking for the Service manual and this manual is not available.
Gene.
Thanks Gene. That’s what I wanted.
Part came today(next day, wow!). Took less than 5 minutes to install and BINGO! Very happy! Fixed for less than $100! Worth noting, I ordered the interface dispenser assembly. This included the control board and the door panel for only $2 more than just the dispenser control board. Made the repair much easier by not having to separate old board from panel and messing with the delicate ribbon harness. Thanks Gene for everything. I nearly look forward to my next breakdown. Not.
You are welcome. I’m glad you were able to fix it and save some $$$:):):).
Thank you for the feedback and your good words.
Good luck with your fridge.
