ge gas drier not advancing

My ge gas dryer works fine and dries fine. The issue I have is that the timer wont advance. Is it as simple is it sounds to replace the timer? It is a ge dryer model DBXR453GVOWW. Plese get bck

If there is power to the timer motor then the timer is the culprit.
