Bought a GE gtw460asj4ww top loading washer a little over a year ago. Today it stopped agitating while making a swishing sound. Then it started to smell like something was burning, but not your typical burning rubber belt smell. More like a wire burning. Now the lights over the buttons on the front panel won’t light up, and every time I plug it back in it starts trying to agitate with the sound and smell accompanying it. What is going on? It doesn’t matter if the lid switch is engaged or not. On a related note: how do I open this thing? I thought all new ge washers were front serviceable, but this one looks to have the panel on the rear.
