Gas Dryer-NO Heat. How do I gain access to reach the burner Assembly , Thermostat, etc. I prefer to access from front if possible.
I have repaired gas dryers in the past and most of the time it’s the heater element. In either case I can usually take the entire burner assemby in to a repair/parts shop and have them test and confirm what’s needed then make purchase.
Thank you Gene. I did figure it out before reading your reply. I took the entire burner assembly in to a part dealer for bench test. The igniter looked good and the heat sensor had good continuity. Since I never looked down after opening the top to see if the igniter was glowing and/or lighting the burner, I did so after returning and reinstalling. Everything worked, go figure. Maybe it was the cleaning. My wife says that it seems not to heat when using the dryness settings on the timer dial but works by using just time settings. I suppose this could be true if a dryness/moisture sensor isn’t working. However, she also says that it doesn’t seem to get as hot as she remembers prior.
Do you know what would possibly cause the temperature to become lower even at the hottest setting and is this possibly related to the same moisture/dryness dial settings not working to ignite the burner?
My most sincere thanks to you for your generous help.
Marty
I would replace the gas valve coils in such situation. GE coils are very expensive, so you can use the coils made by Frigidaire which are absolutely the same.
My husband and I purchsed and LG with our wedding money three years ago this week. After a year we realized the water spigot that spits water into the ice tray was spraying water all over. Then we noticed there was a vent at the bottom of the freezer that looked as if something had caught on fire and melted it. The warranty was up and so we thought we would just deal with the ice tray mess. Then about a year later the fridge would shut off its control panel but all of the power would still be on to the fridge; except it would start to defrost. The only way it would come back on was by unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Not long afterward the growling started. When the door would be opened the noise stopped then would start again when the door was closed. The noise was so loud we could hear it across the house with the kitchen door closed and our bedroom door closed. I received a notice from GE explaing my extended warranty was about to be up - we had a service contract unbeknownst to us! A repairman came and replaced the computer as well as the entire ice compartment. The fridge seemd fixed, for four weeks until it started doing the same crap all over again. A repair man is coming this Thursday, the last one on our service warranty contract. I want to make sure we get all we can out of our appointment and I wonder if any one knows of this happening to other people. Help please!
