Ge Profile Triton not draining after final rinse

About a week ago my GE Profile dishwasher stopped draining after the final rinse cycle. We always rinse dishes in the sink prior to loading the dishwasher and earlier this year I installed a new stainless steel sink, new air gap assy as well as disposal hose. I also had the disposal apart and cleaned out so I knew this should not be a blockage issue since water drains fine into the disposal after the wash and first rinse cycles. Only after the final rinse was the tub still full of clean water. Tired reset a few times but did not help so I got out my shopvac. Read all the posts I could find and one cyoungms. I checked the Drain check valve & after 9 years it still looked okay - it sealed the hole. While not sure if repairing was worth it I removed the unit while looking for a replacement DW. I removed the drain pump and the impeller seemed fine but I then saw the Valve Flapper had torn and the center part about the size of a dime fell out of the black connecting hose. This seems to be my problem - any other thoughts?

Can you explain how this valve flapper works with the check valve assy?

Thanks,

I checked the Drain check valve
I am assuming that you are referring to the "Piston & nut", Item 564 in the Body parts section. This is often the cause of incomplete draining.

I am assuming the flapper you are referring to is Item 328 in the Motor-pump mechanism section.
I believe all is does is stop the unit from siphoning water back out of the drain once the drain pump stops.

Am not sure how much water is left in the unit but it should only be the amount of water held in the hose from the pump to the air gap. If it is more I would check the air gap which should prevent the unit from siphoning water back from the house plumbing.
