Hi,
I’m new to the forum, but I was hoping someone would have a minute to help out. I moved into a home that is 3 years old and so is the refrigerator.
The freezer moves between being frozen and water dripping off the shelves and the inside walls.
I’ve had a repairman out twice. The First time, he changed the electronic controller board (or whatever it’s called :-). The second time, he replaced the flap on the door where the ice is supposed to come out. It can’t, of course, because it is all frozen together almost as soon as it drops into the bucket.
He’s now trying to figure out what to do next. Here are the things I’m noticing:
–When the freezer door is closed and you push on the handle, the door moves toward the back a bit and there is an audible "whoosh" of air that comes from the outside edge of the door.
So, that makes me wonder if the gasket on the door could be faulty? It looks flat, not wavy.
–As the defrost cycle is underway, there is an audible noise that comes from the freezer. I suppose this could be normal? And, if you open the freezer door when you hear that noise, there’s water dripping everywhere.
Everything in the freezer is covered in frost. And, of course, I’m not going to eat anything in there because I figure it’s been frozen and thawed lots of times by now.
I’m not a real DIY person, but I’d be forever grateful if someone had an opinion on what could be the problem.
Right now, I’m stumped, and I’m afraid my repair guy is, too!
Thanks so much.
