GE Side-by-Side Fridge Ice Crusher Motor

I just received a new auger motor and am trying to install it. Everything would be fine if I could get the nut off the spindle of the old one so I could remove it. What is the trick to this? It seems nearly impossible to unscrew it considering the spindle turns both ways and the two prongs on each side of it make it very difficult to access. And the nut has notches so you can’t fit a socket over it.

I’ve tried everything I can think of, or my tool set will support. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It’s a bit of an emergency because I live in Hawaii and everything is melting faster than I ever imagined. Thanks!!
