Hi TechPros,
Oven will not turn On, on bake. When I turn the the temp selector switch to the desired temperature, the the oven Bake indicator comes ON, the desired temp LED lights comes ON, But the ignitor will Not come ON.
Observation: When I turn it to Broil, the round ignitor comes On, then the Burner comes On. Both of these are located in the ceiling of the oven. I need help, What could be the problem? Also how many ignitor and burner this oven have? My Oven is GE SPECTRA XL44, Model#JGBP40WEC4WW, Serial # TD251002P
There are two igniters in the oven: one for Broil and one for Bake. Most likely the problem is a bad Bake igniter. You have to remove the oven floor and the flame spreader to access the igniter. You also have to remove the bottom drawer to access the wires.
Hi Gene,
Is there any other parts i need to check before replacing the igniter, like the gas valve or thermostat? How long is the normal wait if the parts is out of stock? Is the igniter the same for for broil and bake?
Whenever i try to set the cleaning cycle on my oven i get a series of beebs and then the word "DOOR" pops up on the screen and the cleaning cycle stops.
i checked to make sure there is nothing holding the door open (even a little) and try again but i get the same response. any ideas??

I used the clean cycle last year and thought I would run it again. I select the run time and the display goes to dr, it never locks. How do I get to the motor? The lock motor is over a hundred dollars and it needs cleaning once a year. My wife spent two hundred dollars extra for a self cleaning oven. Rags and detergent.
