GE XL44 oven issue, a little different

I have a GE Profile oven, XL44 model JGBP86BEA1BB.
Others have posted that like me, the burners work but when baking the display reads 100 and it is not heating up.
I WOULD think the glow rod is out, but it will self-clean and glows orange and heats up then.
Not sure if glow rod would help.
THanks in advance for any advice!

I’m having similar problems with my GE XL44 JGBS23WEA2WW oven and from what I read in the posts here I’m convinced that the ignitor needs to be changed. It won’t glow and won’t release gas.
My question would be weather to remove the bottom of the oven or get to it through the broiler door?

snashmcsd,

There are two igniters in the oven, one for Bake and another one for Broil. When you used the self clean you probably saw the Broil igniter glowing because they both are involved.

You can check the Bake igniter for continuity and if it’s open then it’s bad.

  • The part number for the oven igniter is AP2014008

Judicska,

You can do it either way - whichever is more convenient for you. I would prefer to remove the oven floor.
