GE Washer Spins Very Slowly

Hello,

My GE washer has a defective spin cycle and clothes are coming out soaking wet.

I ran a full cycle with the lid bypassed and open.

-The wash and rinse cycles appear to be working fine.

-The water drains completely, for an extra small load it only took about 30-40 seconds to drain.

-The spin cycle starts but very slowly. I watched it spin slowly for about 5 minutes and then it turned off like the cycle was complete.

-It sounds like the drain pump is running during the entire spin cycle, should it cut out at some point?

-I get a steady green led blink from the led on the motor.

-The belt looks very clean and tight, I can’t see anything wrong with it.

Thank you for any help!!

Are you sure your not getting 9 flashes, then pause and repeat? That would be a faulty brake resistor which would cause the motor to spin the basket slowly.

I’ve been watching the light very closely for awhile and I am pretty sure I get the normal 1 second standby and .5 second normal run blinks.

I read somewhere that it might be a bad power filter and that could cause a slow spin without error codes? I’m starting to think I may need to try and replace the motor to see if that fixes it. Not sure what else I can do at this point.

Thanks for the help!
