I bought a top load GE washer 4 years ago and just yesterday it stopped working. It will run through it’s cycles normally except it won’t spin or agitate. The water pumps fine but no spinning. I took the front panel off and found the motor and watched for the blinking leds. The led blinks 6 times. The tub moves freely and nothing is stopping this from spinning. I took the belt off, tried jumping the door switch, and tried the reset and nothing seems to work. It still blinks 6 times.
I just want to know if there is anything else I can do before buying a new motor and how do I know the new motor I buy will last.The GE motors seem like they are a piece of junk.
