GE WBVH6240 spin

Hi my GE WBVH6240 stopped spinning today but otherwise works well. It had recently begun making some loud roaring noises while in the spin cycle. I removed the front cover to do a diagnostic test and saw black rubber shavings all over and discovered the drive belt was off. My question is how likely is it that the belt can simply be replaced and fix our issue? After reading many posts here on this model my guess is that there is a bearing going out on either the motor or the tub drive pulley. Should I just replace the belt myself, spend the money to call out a repairmain, or just kiss this expensive beast goodbye and be happy I got 5 years out of it and put the repair money towards a basic top loader? Any advice on smart next steps would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
