Heating element not working

Our front heating element (a double element) is no longer turning on anymore. When we turn the dial into any setting, the stove light lights up but the element never heats up. I tried replacing the element with part AP4096190 (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-element--ceran--dual-item-number-ap4096190.aspx) but that doesn’t seem to do the trick.

Can anyone offer what to do or check for next?

Most likely the problem is bad infinite switch.

I know it has been awhile since I had this issue, but I wanted to state that replacing the recommended part did the trick. Thanks for the help.
