My Hotpoint electric dryer has heat, but takes 2 cycles to dry clothes. It also gets very hot on the top right side by the timer - almost too hot to touch. I have dismantled the dryer and removed all lint. I have made sure my exhaust tube into the wall is clear of restrictions as well. The heating element burns hot. The motor and fan are both working as they should and the belt isn’t slipping. I can’t figure it out - mechanically it runs perfect. I moved to a new house, and now it won’t dry clothes, but it worked perfect in my old house. I am wondering if there is an electronic problem and why the top right side is getting so hot. Last time it got that hot on top, I had a birdnest in the house exhaust tube restricting the air flow, but not this time. The previous homeowner didn’t have any problems with their dryer (confirming no exhaust tube restriction). Any ideas anyone?
had a similar problem with my hotpoint. resolved it by cleaning the lint off the fins of the cylindrical intake fan at the bottom right corner. back and sides need to be unscrewed. job completed with one philips and one flat screwdriver. Flat screwdriver to release plastic clips of internal components to base. the base needs to slide out to free one of the clips but stays connected to the machine by the electrical cables.

Thanks for the input, That particular scenario, usually involves a noise as well. I would do the same, when "de linting " a dryer cabinet interior, due to other complaints.
Great idea, and hope others check that blower wheel as well.
