Our ice dispenser suddenly stopped working. When you push the dispenser arm nothing happens - no motor sound and the auger does not move. The dispenser lid opens but the auger that directs ice to the opening does not move. The water dispenser works as does the light in the dispenser opening in the door.
Is this problem due to motor failure or is it a relay switch? We live in Phoenix and have heavy calcium levels in our water. Even though we replace the water filter regularly, we are showing some calcium build-up on the dispenser arm for the water dispenser.
Your customer service rep says that he sells quite a few motors for the dispenser for this refrigerator model but wanted me to make sure that the calcuim level might not be the problem in this case.
Please advise!
