Good morning,
I have an older GE (so old it says RCA)(m/n MSX22GASM AD) side by side with ice maker which at one point overflowed and made a huge ice falls inside the freezer. After carefully removing the ice and pitching some ancient food, I removed the ice maker to thaw out the inlet funnel. Re-installed the unit, let it chill for awhile, let the arm down and it started producing ice just fine. Later that evening I found the ice bin overflowing with the arm stuck in the up/off position and overproducing ice. Emptied the bin, allowed the maker to finish a cycle and put the arm back up/off. This morning it decided to start making ice again, arm is still up/off. I’m thinking a micro switch attached to the arm may be at fault but am not seeing that item on the parts list. Anybody else experience this or have an idea on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!
Do you have the old style ice maker that makes round cubes? The diagrams didn’t show an ice maker. I’d guess bad switch.
