Kenmore 110: Won't Agitate. And no drain

This morning , the washer won’t agitate. All I hear is a whining noise. Probably the transmission part of the washer. I am looking up the diagram now but I’d like some advice. It has always been a dynamite reliable machine with only a leak at the water pump several years back. I fixed that. But now no agitation. I replaced the agitator dogs about 3 years ago. Help where to start. I need to drain by hand since can’t get it to drain either.

May be something in the pump jamming the motor. Pull pump away from motor shaft and see if it will now agitate or spin. If good, remove pump hoses and check for obstruction inside pump.

I forgot where to get the diagrams of the assembly.

Go to the Sears parts website and plug in your model number.

Thanks. I went to this parts site, looked up coupling for the motor. In there is a diagram of the assembly. Sears is also good. Thanks. Taking it apart now.

Having trouble getting that pump off. Seems have to break it. Thought I replaced the pump a few years ago. Must have a leak in it and rusted to the shaft. I get it about 1/4 of the way off then stuck. I’m spraying it with wd40, some auto spray for rusty bolts and see if I can get it off without breaking it. Probably need a new pump assembly?

I was able to take the pump with the motor off together as one piece. The coupling looks worn. The plastic on the coupling to the transmission to the barrel spin shaft ( not the motor side) is partially rounded. When I move the shaft from the transmission, the barrel spins- but only in one direction. I assume that is correct. Looks like the shaft on the trans may be somewhat round too. If it is, I’ll tap a hole into the new coupling piece and set screw it to the shaft. $11 at Appliance Pros, $15.25 at Sears if in stock. May put in two at 90 degrees apart. As for the pump, It just isn’t coming off ‘nice’. So am I right guessing that the pump may have leaked some and should be replaced too. $30 at appliance pros. $43 at Sears.

Pump looks badly stuck. Can’t pry it off without breaking it, so looks like new pump assembly.
