I put a load in the other day, a shirt got wrapped up and stuck. Now when I turn on the washer on spin cycle, nothing happens. The washer makes a humming/grinding sound. When I start from the begining of a cycle it will fill with water and that’s it. It won’t agitiate, spin or drain. Did I burn out the motor? I didn’t smell anything burning or an electrical smell when the shirt got wrapped up. The shirt was only wrapped up for about 10 minutes… Is there a way to check the motor. Is there a limit switch? Thanks for your help…
Sound like the motor is gone.
Remove the cabinet. Remove the drain pump and the motor.
Check all wires to the motor.
Check the capacitor.
Turn the washer on and see if the motor runs.

Gene.
When you turn the fridg on, feal the compressor and listen, if it is making the usual vibration inticating the compressor is running, then shuts down, you have a bad compressor, probably varnish buildup, or poor running torqe.
If you are not sure if it’s running, pull the start device. If it rattles when shaken it’s bad. Either way, I would try a new start device to see if it will work.
