Kenmore wont agitate, spin or drain

Hey guys

I have a Kenmore 500 series washing machine, model 110.29522800. During the last successful cycle it made this sound similar to two belts rubbing together, followed by a burning electrical smell. The next day I tested it out, it turned on, filled with water, then stopped. I tried move it to the spin cycle, it only hummed, it wouldn’t agitate or drain. I looked up my symptoms and it brought me here. A post with similar problems suggested it could be the washer motor couplings. I took it apart, and the couplings are in good shape. I’ve also checked the wiring and it all seems to be in good shape as well. What else could be my issue?

After it stops filling and should start agitating, is the washer silent? Does the motor hum? Does the timer advance on it’s own? You say it hums when set to spin. Is it the motor humming or the timer? If motor hums, there may be something jamming the pump preventing the motor from running. Remove the cabinet, jump out the lid switch, pull the pump from the motor and see if motor will run.
