Like so many others, I found this site after my Kitchen Aid Superba Double oven quite working during a cleaning cycle. Cleaning cycle in the upper over immediately after making a mess while preparing a meal.
I had used the self cleaning option several times previously, but always started cold so wondering if going right from a several hour cooking cylce to the self cleaning cycle made the difference.
Anyway, prior to finding this site, I took the oven apart enough to get the door unlocked, test the circuit breaker (fine) and then pulled the oven out to test power to the oven (again fine) but no power through the oven up to the control panel.
After seeing several blogs on here, I pulled the oven out of the wall and tested the thermal fuses, and the upper one was bad. I replaced the fuse, restored power to the unit and have power through the unit up to the control panel, but there is no power coming through. Power to the control panel, but not making it through to the controls. I tested both thermal fuses again, power there.
Now it appears that the control panel which contains several circuit boards, capacitators, transisters, etc. that all look to be good, is not working. I looked for evidence of burns or scorching in and around the control panel, but did not find anything that seemed alarming.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Gary
