LG WM2277HW won't spin

Long story that I’ll try to summarize. My wife was doing laundry after I went to bed. Got up in morning to find a note that said that there were clothes and water in washer, she couldn’t get it to do anything (found out later it also had a dE error).

After trying a few things (trying to start a new cycle, unplugging it for 10-20 minutes, emptying the drain hose and checking the filter, etc.), I tried just the spin & rinse cycle. Machine started and went through the rinse and spin cycles, but made a loud noise (humming or vibration) when it started the spin cycle.

Got the clothes out and ran it through a couple of Quick Cycles and it seemed to work OK, but seemed to make a louder than normal noise when transitioning from the wash to the spin cycle, then again whenever it would initiate a water evacuation (but these weren’t much louder than what I think were normal).

Wife has used it for several loads since then, and all seems to be working ok, but I am wondering if this may be an indicator of a more iminent problem about to occur (like maybe the drain pump).

Any suggestions/recommendations?

(FYI - I replaced the door switch about 2 weeks ago, so I don’t think the dE error is related to that.)

Thanks,
Bruce

Hello Bruce,

Remove the rear cover and make sure the motor bolt (K123 at the diagram) is not loosened.

Check for any foreign objects stuck between the tub and drum by removing the heater from the tub and checking through that opening.
