loud noise on spin cycle front loading washer

I have a 10 yr old FRIGIDAIRE front loading washer that makes a loud noise on spin cycle. I have removed front and back panels and large drive pully at back of drum. From on line search it looks like I must remove drum from cabinet and replace rear drum outer half. Any help??!!! looks like a $200 part and several hours just to get it apart. Would like to find on line ownwers manual or other helpful items.

You are probably correct in your diagnosis, but there may be other damage also, particularly the "spider" assembly on the inner tub.

Here is a service manual, but my advice on these is that replacement, particularly with a no frills top loader is the better solution than repair.
