Magic chef F1 same ole story

I inherited this appliance when I purchased the home, so I don’t now how old this range/oven is. I noticed other people having the same problem with the display of the F1 and the constant beeping. All I know is when I remove the panel (membrane) on the outside that has the buttons, my problem goes away, so it sounds like I should replace that part. However, there are those that have the same problem and have replaced that part and still have that problem. Of course, neither part is cheap and I cannot return the item is plugged in, what would you suggest?

that is the gig, with this electronic stuff. we look up the codes, and it is about 75% correct. but, just the shear fact, that you unplugged the touch pad, and the noise stopped, i believe you are on the right track. the f1 codes is touch pad. tom
