Almost two weeks ago a seal in the front that runs between the tumbler and the body of the dryer came out. I ordered the replacement seal -
AP4046563 (37001132) Seal, cylinder - but I’m thinking I didn’t install it correctly. It didn’t come with instructions so I just looked at pics online of what it should look like. It worked for 2 loads but then at the beginning of the 3rd load the seal came out. Is there an adhesive you’re supposed to use to keep this in place? Also, where the tumbler met the metal wall in the front in one section there is a place about 2" long on the tumbler that is now a little jagged and I believe will pull on the seal. Will it be ok just to sand that area?
Hello Gene,
Thanks for the reply! The Dryer takes about two to three times longer than normal. The lint trap is free, the blower is working good, the air ducts are clear. The elecric bill is big!
if the dryer feels warm along the sides or top you probably have a vent issue, dont use white vinyl use straight 4" pipe or heavy flex pipe, you can tell if you open the door , hold down the door switch, turn it on and feel around the filter, then try it with the vent disconnected, if there is a big difference in the feel of the suction you have a vent issue, the reason the dryer feel hot is there is no air flow, good luck…john
