maytag atlantis no heat issue

The dryer will not heat.
I have tested the thermal fuses and the cyling thermostat, they are all ok.
it appears I am not getting the other 120v leg for the element through the timer section. only 1 of the element wires reads 120 when disconnected.
I’m stumped on this. anyone have any ideas?

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram.

Only one side of the line is switched in with the timer, the other side comes in through the motor’s centrifugal switch.

Did you disconnect at least one side of any device you were measuring for resistance?
This ensures that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path.

i wonder if it is the switch in the motor.
everything else checks out but no power to the black wire for the element.
that’s the one that comes through the motor drive. I will have to take it apart further and check that. that doesn’t sound cheap to fix either.

You could unplug the unit, attach/tape one meter lead to L1 on the power cord and leave it there. Set the unit to high heat and mid timed dry cycle. Then work you way back through the heating circuit component after component.
This will not only check the components but also the wiring.

the owner of the dryer has given up and bought a new one.
I do have some parts that did test fine I could sell if anyone needs any. one is the brand new cycling thermostat, that was installed but it still new.

Sorry to hear the owner gave up as you were just on the edge of confirming that the centrifugal switch on the motor was toast.
