Maytag Ensignia Leaks Into Tub

Water drips into the tub after washing, but only sometimes (the drip is where water fills into the tub - I think that is called the injector assembly). When I did not use the machine for a few days i found the tub 1/3 full.

Reading online it looks like it is probably the water inlet valve and definitely should be fixed as it might just stick open and overflow the washer.

How easy is this repair for DIY? I have repaired an older Maytag washer and it was easy (all accessed from front, easy to remove front panel). I have no repair manuals and it looks like I have to take the front off (no screws, how?), then the top off (again how?) to gain access to the valve.

If I DIY, what is the likelihood it is not the water inlet valve? Are there any other parts I ought to replace while I have it opened up - it is 7 yrs old?

Seems like almost certainly a water valve problem. The part is not expensive so it is definitely worth replacing to see if that will fix it. Here is the part from this site.

On this machine you should be able to remove the front panel by inserting a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and the front panels at each edge. This will release clips which will allow you to remove the front panel. You can then take out screws holding the top to the cabine and lift it up to access the valves.

Good luck.
