Maytag Washer dripping inside!

There is a slow constant drip off upper inside of washer behind what looks/feels like a white plastic ‘lip’ piece into tub. Suggestions are much-appreciated! Is the case difficult to remove? Can I diagnose the problem? Thanks!

Most likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve (#8 on the diagram which is not closing all the way. The correction is to replace the water valve. You can access it by removing the front panel and lifting up the top panel.

Remove the screw on the bottom each side of the front panel (#21). Grab the front panel with both hands on the bottom and pull it toward yourself to release its fastener springs (#6) from the top panel. Remove the screw on each side of the top of the washer cabinet (#21 on the [URL="http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=26643&diagram_id=630576)) and lift the top panel up.
