[SIZE=2][FONT=Arial]My top loading Maytag LAT9206BAE stopped spinning on spin cycle. When turned on its back with the hot and cold water feeds on the floor, both belts are intact. I can turn the tub pulley to counter clockwise just fine, but when I turn it counterclockwise, after 1/8th turn either a brake or clutch engages and prevents additional movement by hand. If I put the handle of a set of Channel Locks in the lightening holes of the pulley, I can turn it, but only with significant effort.
The motor works fine, and there is no leaking lubricant from the transmission. Also, the tub is not leaking.
Any ideas or thoughts?
