My maytag washing has just started this problem. No matter what cycle it is on when it get to the spin cycle the machine keeps agiating throughout the entire cycle and then spots with full load of water. If I am standing watching or I find it thsi way later I can turn dail to the spin cycle and open and close the lid and it will spin and drain like normal. But if no one is here to open and close the lid to start the machine spinning it just continues to agiagte the enitre cycel never draining. Could this be abad timer. I had this machine repaired about a year ago and it had a brand new transmission installed at that time. No problems since then. any help would be great!
Thanks Hull98
At some point the timer should stop the machine completely for the motor to reverse. When you open the lid the motor stops and is able to reverse. I believe you are right the timer is bad. http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/clothes-washer-repair.html
