Need help with timer...

This washer has been sitting for a couple years and was not used after being moved. It worked fine before being moved. When we plugged it in to use it, it filled as normal and then the the timer just makes a humming noise and there is a slight burning smell. It will not drain, agitate, or spin. The motor does not make a noise or move—I do not believe it is getting any power. We have taken the timer off and one of the connectors on the timer is blackened—only one of them. See pic. Is this a definite that the timer is bad and needs replaced or did something else make the timer go bad and we will have the same problem after replacing it? Or, is it something else? The pic of the blackened pin was hard to get—the dark parts on the other pins are only shadows. Any ideas?

Check the motor to see that it turns ok, check the pully on the transmission to see that it turns and check the belt and pump.

If all that checks out try replacing the timer. If you buy from this site and the new timer does not fix things you can return it.
