No heat -- motor and drum run

Kenmore/ Whirlpool gas dryer 27 in. Ser # MP1204902

The motor and drum turn, no clicks heard. Tried moving the heat selector switch on the front panel with no success. Tried in both timed dry and heat sensor mode with no success.

Took the front lower panel off. Disconnected 110v leads to the burner assembly and attached meter in AC setting to the dryer side leads. No voltage detected when motor and drum are turning.

Found one fuse and the thermister just downstream of the blower fan. Fuse shows 0 ohms and thermister shows 8500 ohms and moves lower from heat of my fingers. Checked the 205 degree thermostat on outside of heat tube above burner; shows 0 ohms. Some web sources show more thermal cutoffs/fuses, but I don’t see any.

Can the broken belt switch be bad and still allow the motor to turn?
What do I go from here? Thanks

There are two identical relays inside the control panel. One is the motor relay (next to the push-to-start switch) and the other is the heater relay (next to the temperature switch and the control board). Very likely the problem is a bad heater relay or a bad control board.

Check for 48 VDC between the two wires connected to the two smaller terminals at the relay.

If the reading is correct, replace the relay.

If the reading is incorrect, replace the control board.
