My washer fills up with water, it drains the water, but it will not go through a wash cycle or a spin cycle. The inverter error code on the moter is flashing 4 times, which means " Mode Shift Circuit Failed ". Action is to check "Mode Shift Coil". Where would this be located? And, can I replace this part?
Click on your model number and you will be taken to a set of exploded views of your machine. The mode shifter is what GE engineers developed to replace the transmission.
You can replace it, but you need access to a service manual, and I cannot get that to you because GE will not release tech info.
Before doing anything I would try clearing the error code. Sometimes this will fix things all by itself!
